The Law

The Legislation regulating practice in the Banking and financial industry is the Banks and other Financial Institutions Decree of 1991 as amended. There is also the Failed Bank (Recovery of Debts and Financial Malpractices in Banks) Decree of 1994 (as amended in 1995 and 1999). This Decree acts as a check on Malpractice occurring within the Bank and financial industry.
